The Garrison Hotel is a historic wedding venue in Sheffield, offering a distinctive setting for civil ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and evening receptions of up to 200 guests. Originally a military guard house and ammunition store, the building is steeped in character, combining period features with flexible event spaces that can be styled to suit each couple’s vision.
A range of licensed spaces allows weddings to be tailored to different sizes and styles. The Guardhouse Suite can host up to 90 guests for a ceremony or seated wedding breakfast, and up to 200 for evening receptions, with space for dining, dancing and entertainment. For smaller celebrations, the Garrison Suite accommodates up to 35 for ceremonies or dining, and up to 70 for receptions, with the added benefit of a private terrace. Outdoor ceremonies can take place on the Roof Terrace, which seats up to 80 guests and offers a unique open-air setting for summer ceremonies.
Packages are available to suit different budgets, with options that include welcome drinks, a wedding breakfast, evening catering and a master of ceremonies. Couples can also work with a resident DJ and make use of extras such as table linen, chair covers and cake stands, while the spaces themselves can be styled to create a bespoke and personal celebration.
Catering is flexible, with menus ranging from canapes such as halloumi bites, mini arancini and skewers, to three-course wedding breakfasts featuring dishes like tomato and basil soup, roast beef, sea bass or risotto, followed by desserts such as panna cotta or chocolate and raspberry tart. Evening buffets include a mix of sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche and garlic bread pizzas, while a dedicated children’s menu ensures younger guests are catered for. On-site accommodation includes a suite for the newlyweds and additional rooms for guests, making it easy to extend celebrations into a full weekend.
