If you're looking to tie the knot in beautiful Sussex, The Birch Hotel offers friendly service, a comfortable setting and a great location close to Haywards Heath. With no rigid wedding packages, the team will help you create a wedding that's as unique as you are.
The Birch Hotel is an independent, privately owned establishment - and proudly so. It is licensed for both Civil Marriage and Civil Partnership ceremonies, which it approaches in a bespoke manner, planning each celebration around the couple rather than asking them to fit into a preset format.
There are three main wedding spaces to choose from: The Courtyard, The Sussex and The Bridge, accommodating seated celebrations from just eight guests up to 80. For a larger evening reception, The Courtyard can host up to 120, giving couples the option to keep the ceremony intimate before opening things up for a bigger party later on.
The building itself has some wonderful original features such as a statement wooden staircase, complemented by chandeliers, dark timber doors and decorative cornicing. Aside from this, the team have kept the interiors neutral and traditional, letting what's already there shine. The ceremony rooms can be dressed simply with chair covers, floral arrangements and an aisle runner, or adapted more personally depending on the look couples have in mind.
Couples are welcome to hold their entire wedding at The Birch Hotel, from ceremony to evening reception, or use it simply for the celebration after marrying elsewhere. The team work closely with each couple to shape the day around their plans, whether that means a small family gathering, a more formal seated wedding breakfast or a larger party.
Catering is provided in house and menus are planned collaboratively with the chefs and can range from traditional plated wedding breakfasts to more relaxed buffet dining, with dietary requirements carefully considered as part of the planning process. There are no fixed wedding packages, and pricing is tailored according to the individual event. That means room choices, food, timings and the scale of the celebration can all be discussed together rather than bundled into a one-size-fits-all offer.
