Who wouldn't dream of hosting their wedding day at a stunning Devonshire manor house with almost a thousand years of history? With its striking arrow-slit windows and rustic original features, Boringdon Hall combines charm, style, heritage and luxury for a unique wedding venue overlooking the Dartmoor countryside.
The team are a dab hand at pulling off incredible wedding days without a hitch - and over the years they've curated a selection of packages that suit everyone. If you're planning something smaller, there are options for a ceremony-only booking, elopments or intimate wedding days which include hire of the 'Secret Bar' for just the bride and groom to toast, followed by treatments at the spa. Or, for example, 'small' weddings of less than 60 people include the hire of the Elizabethan Suite with canapes and wedding breakfast, designed by Head Chef Scott Paton.
By contrast, the exclusive use package includes takeover of the entire hall, with a buy out of all 55 suites for overnight accomodation, followed by breakfast together in the morning and use of the spa. For the evening reception, the chef's buffet or a hog roast are the perfect late night snack, with options for indoor or outdoor ceremonies.
For weddings in the summer, the marquee is a gorgeous backdrop for post-ceremony frolicking. Set in the picturesque grounds, here you can host drinking, dining and dancing late into the night, with a three-course meal, petit fours, half a bottle of wine per person and sparkling wine to toast with.
Every booking comes with its own dedicated events planner and you're welcome to discuss your gastro tastes with them. But, for now, check out sample menus online which share ideas such as duck terrine, quince and walnut to start, followed by mains like rump of wagyu beef with rosti potato, truffle sauce and thyme roasted carrots, finished with cherry parfait with pistachio and white chocolate for dessert.
