Malmaison Oxford

Occupying what used to be a prison in a medieval castle, Malmaison Oxford made the conversion to hotel almost 20 years ago. There are 95 bedrooms and suites, including some original cells that have become 38 bedrooms around a central Atrium that can be used for private events with up to 140 guests. Five of its meeting spaces on the lower ground floor are also converted cells. The exercise yard is now one of the hotel’s two outside areas – the other is a rooftop terrace. The third-floor Visitors Room used to double as a chapel and has the viewing balcony and high ceiling to prove it. Parking for 30 cars is available on site or the railway station is five minutes’ walk away.
