Say hello to Zula Burger, a fresh burger concept just moments from Hyde Park and Oxford Street, bringing a new kind of fast-food energy to central London. Launched in Marble Arch, it's the brand’s first UK outpost and designed as an easy meeting place for friends and a casual bite to eat.
Zula Burger was founded in Istanbul in 2017, where it quickly built a reputation for bold flavours and a stripped-back street food ethos. Its name comes from the Turkish word for “hidden corner”, a nod to its origins in the backstreets of Harbiye, where it began as a small, cult burger spot before expanding across the city. It's already a big hit; there are six locations in Istanbul, one in Bodrum, and now, of course, London. Along the way, it's picked up Gault&Millau’s Best Street Food award, cementing its status as more than just another burger brand.
The London opening stays true to that original concept. The menu is deliberately short and tightly curated, focusing on a handful of burgers done well rather than endless customisation. Daily baked buns and freshly prepared patties are central to the offering, with an emphasis on rich sauces and unapologetically indulgent combinations. Burgers include the Basic with cheddar, caramelised onion, pickle, relish and truffle mayo, and the Fake Mac, which riffs on familiar flavours with caramelised onion, mac sauce, cheddar and lettuce. The B.I.G layers cheddar, pickle relish, mustard sauce and truffle mayo, while the Frankfurter offers diners a tasty hot dog with honey mustard, cucumber relish and herbs remoulade.
There's only one side: French fries done properly, while dessert comes in the form of San Sebastian-style cheesecake, flavoured with Madagascar vanilla. Design-wise, Zula leans into a gritty, urban aesthetic that reflects its street food roots, setting it apart from polished burger chains nearby. It feels casual, quick and sociable, making it ideal for spontaneous catch-ups, post-shopping meals or low-key dinners with friends.
