This gourmet sausage restaurant finds its home on Islington’s Upper Street (replacing a branch of Jamon Jamon), and hopes to knock the ubiquitous burger off its top spot as London’s favourite junk-food-gone-gourmet dish. X-Upper offers six varieties of sausage, with options including The Italian Romagna (an Italian chicken and pork sausage with a herby green sauce and yellow pepper salsa), and The English Cumberland: Cumberland sausage topped with beetroot ketchup, horseradish mayonnaise, fresh dill and lemon zest.
Alongside top dog regulars, you’ll also find daily specials such as Kielbasa (Polish sausage) and Käsekrainer, an Austrian variety. Pimped-up hot dogs come at a price though, with each of X-Upper’s sausage dishes costing between £8-12.
