About

There are certain places in London that hold such historical significance, they have the power to transport you to a completely different time. Twenty8 NoMad, situated in the historic grade II-listed Bow Street Magistrates Court where Oscar Wilde was once imprisoned, is one of them.

NoMad London is a 91-bedroom hotel in Covent Garden, offering luxury stays and fine dining. Its main restaurant has been relaunched as Twenty8 NoMad, but the gorgeous, green interiors remain. Natural light pours in through the high, glass ceiling from which gently-lit lanterns hang to illuminate the room at night. A grand fireplace stands tall at one end of the room with leafy plants lined down the centre and vines trickling over the edges of the indoor balcony. Designed to feel blissfully spa-like during the day and a heady, Manhattan-inspired bistro by night, Twenty8 NoMad offers a unique experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Led by culinary director, Bryce Shuman, and executive chef, Zak Gregoire, the new opening is inspired by the golden age of New York bistros and French brasseries. The menu is steeped in nostalgia, with retro classics like prawn cocktail, seafood tower and soft serve. Elsewhere, grilled flatbreads are made using a recipe from a Little Italy pizzeria and crudites are inspired by early morning runs to Union Square Greenmarket. Twenty8 NoMad will also see the return of the signature NoMad chicken, a whole roast chicken stuffed with homemade brioche, foie gras and black truffle.

The New York-inspired cocktail menu is equally lavish, featuring classics, like Martinis, through to the modern-day creations that are currently taking over the city’s bar scene. For a taste of Manhattan in one of London’s most impressive venues, Twenty8 NoMad is due to open 9 May.
