About

The White Lodge Attleborough is a sweet, historic pub in Norfolk that's been serving its local community with a warm, cosy atmosphere and hearty menu, since the 15th century. From the moment you pull up, it looks picture perfect with an authentic, Grade II Listed thatched roof and original windows. It was once the haunt of travellers and their horses who were known for making the journey between Norwich and London, with a well connected location just off the A11 Attleborough roundabout.

The team are proud of their high quality, seasonal menu which offers multiple courses and lots of variety. First up, order a couple of nibbles for the table, marinated olives to toasted flatbreads, followed by a delicious selection of starters including honey and sesame chicken bites with curied mayo, Brancaster mussels served in a rich, creamy shallot, garlic and white wine sauce, and the show-stealer - a pork and marmalade Scotch egg that just can't be missed.

Across the main courses, there's both specials - meaning the team themselves recommend - and pub classics that'll have something for everyone. When we say classics, we don't mean any ol' pub grub, though. Well thought through and elevated, these are the kind of plates that'll keep you full all evening but satisfy your tastebuds, too. The Norfolk Pork Belly, for example, comes with saute potatoes, chantenay carrots, black pudding crumb and crispy sage. While the beef lasagne is homemade, and the chicken parmigiano comes breaded, with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella and parmesan, and served with sweet potatoe fries.

The chef's specials bring even more flavour and flair into the mix with dishes like the maple roasted celeriac steak which combines beetroot mash, wild mushroom and leek fricassee with caramalised onion jus, while the grilled plaice is sourced locally and is served with dill crushed new potatoes alongside buttered kale and leeks.

Finally, dessert rounds things off nicely with sticky toffee and date pudding with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Although, the classic tiramisu sounds pretty good, too.
