Unfortunately this was not a good experience. Our pet hate is anyone wearing their face covering beneath the nose and several of the staff were doing this. When mentioned there was no acceptance or understanding of our comment. This is just not acceptable in these times. The young team were just not up to the job. The service was very slow and there was no meaningful interaction with us and a complete inability to take an order correctly. A bitter shandy was delivered as a lager shandy, a side didn't come with an order and all this started with the way our server took the order - disinterestedly. There was no atmosphere, a very poor country and western soundtrack on loop which was beyond irritating. The whole experience was like poor hotel restaurant where the meal is just served because it is part of the deal - rather than what it should have been with us having chosen to travel with friends and pay - handsomely - for a Friday evening out. Both the sirloin and rump steak served were not much better than those you would cook up at home from a low cost supermarket and the the triple cooked chips were just a notch above raw - I left them and I never leave food. A very underwhelming and disappointing experience which was embarrassing for us having taken our friends along.
