The Painter’s Room is an elegant cocktail bar located within the iconic Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair. The Painter’s Room pays homage to the original 1930s bar of the same name, featuring murals by Mary Lea.
The Painter’s Room’s prime location within Claridge’s places it at the heart of one of London’s most prestigious districts, Mayfair, renowned for luxury shopping, art galleries, and world-class theatres. Situated between the hotel’s ballroom and the Talking Heads Gallery, this intimate space offers a refined setting for guests seeking a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. Designed by Bryan O’Sullivan, the contemporary design incorporates a pastel pink onyx bar, a rose-framed skylight, and a striking stained-glass mirror created by British artist Annie Morris. The interior is further adorned with whimsical monochrome murals and blue-painted staff jackets, nodding to the artistic heritage of the space.
The cocktail menu at The Painter’s Room is inspired by the landscapes and artistic traditions of southern Europe. Drinks are crafted using small-batch spirits and fresh ingredients, with offerings such as the saint remy martini, inspired by Van Gogh’s almond blossom. The bar also features a curated selection of wines by the glass and seasonal sharing plates, including prawn tempura and Claridge’s fried chicken.
On Fridays and Saturdays, executive pastry chef Thibault Hauchard presents an afternoon tea experience that reimagines tradition with bold flavours and artistic flair. The Painter’s Room also hosts the Art Deco salon series, offering complimentary talks on various aspects of the Art Deco era.
The Painter’s Room provides a chic and artistic retreat in the heart of Mayfair - a perfect spot for both hotel guests and local visitors seeking an elegant pre-dinner drink or a stylish evening out.
