About The Montagu Kitchen at Hyatt Regency The Churchill

The Montagu Kitchen takes residence at Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill and overlooks leafy Portman Square in the heart of Marylebone. The kitchen is led by executive chef Roger Olsson who has created a modern British menu that heroes seasonal produce and carefully-sourced ingredients. Expect the unorthodox here though, with Olsson commenting: ‘’This is not your usual starter/main/dessert menu. Our guests will be excited to explore the full range of the menu, with many dishes being medium sized, lending themselves to social dining’’. The menu is designed to tell a story through various degrees of playfulness and innovation. 

The Montagu Kitchen offers menus for brunch, lunch, dinner as well as a bespoke Sunday brunch menu. For a mid-morning meal, choose from luxurious dishes such as lobster eggs benedict or duck eggs with a beef croquette and truffle mayo. Guests can also upgrade their brunch and enjoy two hours of unlimited bubbly at an additional cost.  

For lunch, there's the option to dine on two or three-course set menus. Look out for the element of storytelling here, with the beginning and end courses named under the titles Prologue and Epilogue. Discover classic British favourites such as Caesar salad, artichoke soup, ‘The Winston’ burger and vanilla cheesecake served with a brandy snap.  

For dinner, the menu is separated into vegetables, fish and meat-based dishes. Intriguing options include the rosemary bread with whipped pumpkin seed butter, leeks with rarebit sauce and Lancashire bomb cheese, Scotch egg with cavolo nero, prawn, squid and saffron and liver and onion chicken parfait with loveage and celery. Sweets feature seasonal British ingredients such as blackberry and apple with an almond biscuit. There are also tasting menus available if you can’t decide!  

From the drinks menu, guests can choose from a selection of Champagne Brut, Champagne roses, as well as a concise wine list and various spirits.

Wonderful relaxed lunch where the waiters were very attentive. Food and wine was delicious. Cannot fault it and will definitely go back again.

Booked here to celebrate our 30th Wedding anniversary. The staff were friendly and very helpful with regards to the wine selection. Service was extremely efficient. The food overall was very good. To start we had Pigeon breast, bacon, baby gem lettuce, olive oil emulsion. Main course my husband ordered the rib eye beef which he found very tasty while I ordered the Dover sole, sautéed potatoes, lemon butter with brocoli. Suprisingly the pigeon was tough to cut but not to chew and was very nice, the dover sole I ordered was dissapointing, it was extremely salty and over seasoned. For desert we both had icecream which was tasty. We did mention to the waitress that the dover sole was salty and she said she would tell the chef, however we did not want to create any fuss on this special occasion and the rest of the meal was faultless. Make sure you taste the bread, it is the best I have tasted and crusty.
