A lovingly restored Georgian property, Manor House Lindley offers a cosy place to stay, dine and relax in Huddersfield. This magical venue may be traditional from the outside, but when you walk through the doors, you'll be greeted by stunning, award winning interiors and a relaxing atmosphere for your next dining experience.
The Lantern Room is the hotel's main restaurant, where an exceptional, award-winning team have created menus that focus on harmonious flavours captured within intricate dishes. The restaurant leans into an ethos of ‘Garden Abundance’, showcasing carefully sourced local produce from across the British Isles. All dinners begin with freshly baked sourdough with pork butter, and an assortment of seasonal snacks, with options to choose two or three courses from the a la carte.
Diners can expect the likes of rainbow trout with gooseberry and cucumber, or pork collar and black pudding pie with rhubarb to start, followed by BBQ lamb rump with heritage beans and courgette, or wild halibut with crab and butter beans in a lemon verbena. There's a dedication to using great British ingredients here, and that's clear in The Lantern Room's excellent cheese board, with a range of cheeses selected from The Courtyard Dairy. Dessert is just as important here, with dishes such as strawberry and Pimm’s Lindley mess and 70% Valrhona chocolate tart with tulameen raspberry on the menu at the time of writing.
The Lantern Room also hosts a very popular Sunday lunch set menu, with two or three courses available. Naturally, mains are based around roast rump of beef, pork loin, or fish, but there are starters and desserts from the a la carte as well, as well as sourdough with locally cultured butter. The Lantern Room also holds special 'tasting nights' once a month, where the kitchen devises a unique tasting menu, with Head Chef John sharing his ideas and inspiration behind the menu.
Finally, a mention for The Lantern Room's excellent wine collection, which includes familiar old-world wines and an endless rotation of new discoveries - perfect for wine enthusiasts to get stuck into.
