The King’s Head is a British gastropub in Leatheringsett offering all-day dining in a relaxed country setting. It combines seasonal cooking with a traditional pub atmosphere, making it well-suited to everything from celebratory occasions to relaxed family meals.
Inside, The King's Head's sage green walls, whitewashed exposed brickwork, and wooden floors create a warm, earthy backdrop. Exposed beams, dark wooden pew seating and leather sofas add to the sense of comfort, while a log burner provides a welcoming focal point. Eclectic artwork and a grandfather clock reinforce the building’s established character without feeling overly formal.
The King's Head menu focuses on locally sourced ingredients prepared to order. Starters include smoked mackerel pate, chicken liver parfait and goat’s cheese with nduja on sourdough toast. Mains range from pub classics such as beer-battered haddock and chips to pork tenderloin with burnt apple and roast Suffolk chicken supreme, alongside vegetarian options like squash risotto. Steaks and a catch of the day feature regularly, and a set menu is also available.
Sunday lunch showcases dry-aged beef rump cap, Norfolk pork loin and Suffolk chicken breast, as well as a Norfolk aged cheddar, cranberry and celeriac pie, all served with traditional trimmings. Breakfast includes full English and vegetarian plates, Eggs Benedict, Royale or Florentine and smashed avocado with poached egg. A dedicated children’s menu makes it a welcoming spot for families, with dishes such as sausage and mash, burger and chips and risotto.
In warmer months, guests can make the most of the gardens and dine alfresco, as the seasonal Garden Shack serves the full menu outside. The gardens are surrounded by beautiful parkland and feature a playground to keep the kids entertained. A stone’s throw from Holt and within easy reach of Blakeney beach, The King’s Head also offers four bespoke country bedrooms for overnight stays.
