About

Located in Fawley, just outside Henley-on-Thames, The King’s Cow is a 300-year-old inn that presents itself as a distinctive dining destination, combining a focus on high-quality food with a unique aesthetic that sets it apart in this riverside town.

The restaurant comes from founders Mike Spink and Charlie Jeffreys, who bring a passion for creative cookery and a love of fresh, local produce to the menus, with dishes that showcase Head Chef Charlie’s deep interests in hunting, butchery and foraging. The kitchen is supplied by two nearby regenerative farms which supply meat, wheat and vegetables to the restaurant.

The menu at The King’s Cow centres around a modern approach to dining, with a focus on carefully sourced ingredients. Guests can expect the likes of double-baked cheese souffle served with rocket sauce, confit cherry tomato cookpot with homemade ricotta, or Cornish crabs salad with radish slaw to start. Moving onto mains, diners can opt for dishes such as The King’s Cow beef pie served with a beef and mustard jus, or smoked beef sausage with buttered mash and wilted greens.

Finish up with something sweet, with options such as dark chocolate fondant tart with chocolate mint ice cream, strawberry and pine parfait topped with a yoghurt foam, or mascarpone mousse with buckwheat and sour cherry,

The interior of The King’s Cow is strikingly dark and minimalist, with black walls, simple furnishings, and candlelit tables creating an intimate and dramatic setting. Bold artwork lines the walls, adding a modern touch to the space.
