The Kensington Hideaway is a boutique hotel nestled in the leafy streets of High Street Kensington, inspired by some of the literary greats who have lived and worked here. If looking for somewhere special to stay while in London, The Kensington Hideaway is a wonderful choice - exclusive, yet central, and underpinned by a romantic, creative concept. But, if you're simply looking for somewhere a little different to dine out - check out the Restaurant and Bar.
The restaurant is an all-day dining affair, hosting guests for breakfast, lunch, dinner and speciality cocktails that can go late into the night. In terms of vibe, think London at its best - rich colours and fabrics, a hint of eccentricity and again, a sense of whimsy. It's comfortable and atmospheric which is perfect for coming together with friends, but with a bit of flair. Stand out features include a snaking, rose-gold installation suspended from the ceiling - you'll want to get a snap of that for your Instagram.
Moving onto the menu and the offering is curated, with a short but sweet selection. Starters include black pepper squid with sweet chilli sauce, alongside Iberian pork 'Salchichon' and beetroot hummus, served with falafel and toasted flatbread. When it comes to mains, the inspiration is clearly global, with dishes such as prawn tagliatelle in garlic and cream sauce, as well as Pincanha steak tacos served with chopped tomato salsa, pickled red onions and coriander. Really fancy digging your teeth into something? We like the sound of the signature Hideaway burger which is made unique with caramalised onions, smoked cheddar and triple cooked fries.
Finally, don't run off if you've got a sweet tooth. The dessert menu holds its own with apple tart and caramel ice cream, as well as New York cheesecake served with fruit compote. It's worth settling in for!
