A very classic choice for dining, The Ivy Brasserie in Canterbury is situated on the corner of The Parade and Rose Lane, near the beautiful Canterbury Cathedral. The restaurant is decorated in a classic style, with a rich colour palette, pops of colour, and opulent touches. Leading out from the main dining area, you'll find the outdoor terrace, which is perfect for al fresco dining on a sunny day.
Heading down just for drinks? Pay a visit to The Ivy's beautiful bar, and ask the mixologists to whip you up something delicious. As you sip on your aperitif (perhaps a Chase Pink Pomelo G&T or Strawberry and Rhubarb), take a look at the delicious snacks and starters. There are truffle arancini rice balls, zucchini fritti with lemon, chill and mint yoghurt, and a creamy twice baked cheddar souffle with a creamy sauce and grated black truffle. A gorgeous French onion soup with gratinated cheese croutons and parsley, and The Ivy's classic crispy duck salad with sesame, watermelon and ginger are also on offer.
The mains section is a mix of classics and speciality dishes. Enjoy a traditional fish and chips with The Ivy 1917 batter, served with mushy peas, thick cut chips and tartare sauce, or a shepherd's pie with slow braised lamb and beef, topped with cheddar mash and a rosemary and red wine sauce. If you're after something really indulgent, take a look at the grill. We'd opt for the succulent, fillet of beef, served with a red wine sauce, and rich truffle and parmesan chips. If you're going all out, dessert has to be The Ivy's chocolate bombe - a classic melting dome with vanilla ice cream, honeycomb and hot caramel sauce. Or, go for something a little lighter, such as the classic frozen berries with yoghurt.
