You'll find The Ivy's recognisable presence in the heart of Manchester, in an impressive space located within The Pavilion. The restaurant is surrounded by lush greenery, despite being smack bang in the city centre. Open all seven days of the week, The Ivy in Spinningfields is the place to be if you're looking for somewhere to enjoy great food, in a beautiful setting, with fantastic service. And, let's face it, who doesn't want that? Diving into the a la carte menu, we're impressed to see a variety of beautiful wines on offer, along with delicious cocktails like a Cherry and Apricot Spritz and Salted Caramel Espresso Martini.
It would be impossible to say no to starters, after all, a visit to The Ivy is nothing if not indulgent. Enjoy hand cut sirloin steak tartare served with shallots, cornichons, capers, parsley and egg yolk, or the whiskey barrel wood smoked salmon with chive cream cheese, salmon roe, lemon and dark rye bread. From the grill, enjoy the ribeye on the bone with a selection of house sauces, and go all out with a selection of sides - we're thinking mashed potato with extra virgin olive oil, green beans with roasted almonds and creamed spinach. Some of the stand out dishes from the main menu include a soy glazed blackened cod loin with citrus pickled fennel, wakame seaweed, sesame seeds and a yuzu and herb sauce, a delicious chargrilled halloumi salad with harissa grains, and the Korean glazed chicken with an avocado and jalapeno sauce, citrus mayonnaise, sesame and pickled mooli.
Don't forget to take a look at the monthly specials whenever you visit, and expect to find gorgeous dishes, like a lentil and aubergine bake, John Dory with lobster, and a roasted lamb rump with crushed peas, broad beans, sun blushed tomatoes, pine nuts, pesto and a red wine sauce.
