The Italian Kitchen in Brighton has been designed with a strong Italian influence in mind, so we can't promise you won't feel as though you're on a sunny Mediterranean holiday. Enjoy it whilst it lasts, eh? Even the menu is authentic, with plenty of incredible seasonal and sustainably sourced ingredients used in each dish, providing a range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options for diners.
Breakfast is served until 12pm and includes all the classics – except a full English, sausage and bacon sandwiches, avocado and poached eggs, and lighter options. If you're visiting at dinner time, you should order some small plates before beginning your main meal. The arancini balls are filled with bolognese, peas and mozzarella, and there are options of crispy calamari, garlicky bruschetta and halloumi with a sweet chilli sauce.
Salads are great for a lighter option, and include the superfood option with avocado, goji berries, black quinoa, mixed leaves, beetroot, walnuts and a sweet lemon and olive oil dressing. There is a long selection of paninis and baguettes to choose from, including chicken escalope with crispy bacon and cheddar cheese, a classic Italian with sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella and fresh tomato, and tuna melt with red onion. Margherita, Italiana, rustica, carne gusto and Daniele are all on the pizza section, giving you the chance to keep it classic or mix things up.
There are plenty of sandwiches, jacket potatoes and kids options to choose from, too, along with delicious sides and healthy smoothies – pineapple sunset, strawberry delight or berry burst. If you want a sweet treat to round off your Italian experience, try the chocolate fudge cake, raspberry and almond slice or apple lattice pie.
