Close to the M11 & handy for Stansted Airport, Down Hall offers a choice of dining options, from the elaborate modern European cuisine served in the evening-only Ibbetsons (see separate review) to a please-all menu of dishes you would happily eat every day in the bistro-style Grill Room. Start with crispy squid on chorizo, pepper & chilli salad with lime vinaigrette, or linguine with butternut squash, ahead of burgers, good steaks or dishes such as rump of lamb with spring greens, rosemary mash, tomato & tarragon sauce. To finish, perhaps caramelised lemon tart with blueberry creme fraiche.
