The Garden House Banham

The Garden House isn't just an idyllic name for a countryside pub, in Banham it's the real deal. A historic public house located in the midst of Norich's beautiful, spanning farmlands, The Garden House looks the part with historic ceiling beams and cosy fireplaces that wouldn't look out of place in Lord of the Rings. 

It's a traditional local with hearty plates, a love for Sunday lunch and a community spirit. For example, every Sunday you can try rolled pork belly, roast turkey, slow roasted brisket, honey roast gamon and for plant based diners, beetroot and butternut squash wellington. All roasts are served with a spectrum of veggies from seasonal roasted root vegetables to mash potatoes and cabbage. There's also unlimited batter puddings and lashings of chunky gravy.

Throughout the week there are lighter options like colourful salads including chicken ceaser and The Garden House salad with garlic chicken and halloumi and you should keep an eye out for weekly deals, too. In the past, the kitchen has offered discount prices for a fish and chips on Fridays, as part of their 'fishy fridays' offer. And, when there's an important national holiday like Easter, or even national pie week, the team like to create something special to celebrate those.

The team at The Garden House love live music so throughout the week, you'll find a whole host of entertainment to keep your foot tapping. It's just one of the many reasons locals love to come back here again and again, and is a great place to meet new people and feel involved in the community. Families are more than welcome here and if you have children with you, the team can even offer them colouring pencils and activity books to keep them occupied.

Behind the bar you can expect all the usual lagers and even The Garden House's own ale. But, that's not to say these guys don't know how to do a good cocktail or two. Here, espresso martinis are a favourite and worth a sip, espeically to kick off the weekend.
