Once ‘Islington’s best kept secret’, this hidey-hole was recently remodelled and re-launched with its original name (after a brief stint as 25 Canonbury Lane). The Four Sisters is part Victorian
pub, part baroque bijou English boudoir – hence the occasional burlesque/cabaret performance to titillate its regulars. Bag the sofa, claim a barstool or settle in with your gang in the cosy back
parlour, where big sporting fixtures such as footie and F1 are also screened. To drink, choose from a range of classic cocktails such as mojito and negroni, English-style cups, modish bottled
lagers and plenty of wines at near pub prices. Sweet and savoury snacks come courtesy of those smart cookies from upmarket Islington bakery Euphorium (who also happen to own the gaff). In all, this
is a wee charmer where a baker’s dozen makes for an intimate gathering.
