Hidden away among the back streets of Walworth, The Beehive is a cosy London boozer which also serves a fantastic range of freshly cooked dishes. Priding itself on its large number of regulars, it aims to provide a warm atmosphere and friendly service whether you’re just popping in for a quick drink, or you are coming for a hearty meal. Offering a menu full of British pub classics, and using locally-sourced ingredients where possible, The Beehive is an ideal spot to get comfortable and treat yourself to a big meal.
While, it doesn’t look like much from the outside, The Beehive does benefit from outdoor space on two sides of the pub, where you can both eat and drink during the warmer months. On the inside, there’s plenty of room with seating spread out through multiple different areas with the bar acting as the centre of the pub.
When it comes to the food offering, The Beehive’s daily menu begins with starters such as crispy calamari and halloumi fritters. In terms of main courses, there are dishes including steak and chips and chicken Caesar salad available. However, the lengthy burger list is the most impressive thing on the menu, with everything from a chicken burger topped with cheese, bacon and tomato relish, to a Mexican inspired beef burger topped with jalapeños on offer. The short dessert menu includes crowd-pleasing puds such as sticky toffee pudding, and chocolate brownie. On top of the daily menu, the Beehive also offers a brunch menu on Saturdays, which features dishes such as eggs and avocado on toast as well as a full English breakfast.
Drinks-wise, this pub is all about supporting local breweries meaning that it has a fantastic variety of little-known beers on offer and well as some more standard pints. It also boasts a wonderful list of wines which means that regardless of your tipple, you won’t be short of choice.
