The Alchemist is a cocktail bar and restaurant located in Spinningfields Manchester. The Alchemist has a contemporary-industrial interior, with striking floor to ceiling windows which overlook an all-year terrace. The large windows create an impressive night-view of the city.
The restaurant has a long bar area, and seating along the window. You can make bookings for dining and drinks, or just drinks. You can also book brunch, or a workspace.
In addition to the main menu there is also a weekend breakfast and brunch menu, plus nibbles, starters & sharers, light plates, and a buns, breads and beyond menu which is largely made up of sandwiches, wraps and gourmet burgers.
The main menu features lots of classic dishes such as Alchemy fish and chips served with tartare or curry sauce, and traditional chicken in a basket served with fries, miso corn and Hickory barbeque sauce. Other options on the main menu include the smoking boards – hot skillet boards served with cuts of meat, rice and charred lime, and crispy duck salad served with hoisin and sesame. You will also find vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu, such as the plant burger with ‘next level’ burger sauce, and a crispy fried halloumi wrap served with pickled slaw, cucumber and siracha mayo.
The Alchemist menu also has a good selection of tempting side dishes, including katsu fries, giant panco onion rings and a delicious sounding truffle gravy.
The dessert menu is inventive and playful with dishes such as cotton candy baked Alaska, and chocolate cookie s’mores. There is also an ice cream menu, and the option to go for coffee and chocolates, or perhaps you’d like the espresso Martini with chocolates.
The bar serves a wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. There is also a cocktail menu, plus fresh tea and coffee.
