About Pier 64
Having been taken over by new management in early 2019, Pier 64 has been given a new lease of life with renovated interiors and a new menu.
The swish but informal restaurant is a bar and steakhouse at the heart of Penarth Marina, which means gorgeous views come as standard. If you want to drink in the Marina’s vistas, your best bet is to dine alfresco on the wrap-around terrace. Don’t worry about feeling nippy though, as the terrace is equipped with heaters that flicker into action as soon as the sun goes down.
Of course, there is also the option to eat in the main dining room, where you will find chic and stylish interiors – think curved grey banquettes, mirrored surfaces and a dedicated bar area wrapped in studded white leather. The menu at Pier 64 is made up of hearty and comforting dishes, with an entire section of the menu dedicated to Welsh steaks, with cuts including ribeye, sirloin and chateaubriand to share.
From the regular main courses, you can enjoy dishes such as slow-cooked pork belly with wholegrain mustard mash and cider jus, or king prawn, chorizo and feta linguine. You can bookend your meal with starters including a crayfish and prawn cocktail or pan-fried scallops, while tempting desserts include chocolate fondant with cherry ice cream, and coconut and mango cheesecake with Italian meringue.
Other than the à la carte, there is also a set lunch menu where you can enjoy three courses for just shy of £20, and a three-course Sunday lunch that includes classic roast dinners with all of the trimmings. Families are more than welcome too, with Pier 64’s children’s menu featuring chargrilled chicken strips and spaghetti Bolognese.
Pop by in the day to enjoy a classic afternoon tea featuring scones and handmade sweet treats, while later in the evening you can stop off for a glass of wine or cocktail from Pier 64’s capable list.
