Silures at Holm House opens 11 July 2025
Silures in Penarth is a stylish bar and bistro offering all-day dining with lunch and dinner service. A cool and cosy restaurant, Silures at Holm House boasts a romantic atmosphere alongside a beer garden, terrace and waterside views - perfect for birthdays, dates, family occasions and special celebrations. While the bar and garden welcome walk-ins, the restaurant and patio are reserved for guests seeking a more intimate dining experience.
The a la carte menu showcases fresh, local produce with dishes like raw and pickled spring vegetables with gochujang hummus, Trealy Farm charcuterie with house pickles, and Severnwy salmon roulade with pickled cucumber, fried capers and horseradish on toasted sourdough. Starters include buffalo milk burrata with heritage tomatoes, edamame and basil pesto, alongside steak tartare with cured egg yolk.
Mains range from poached native lobster with garlic butter and house salad to beer-battered haddock with thick-cut chips and mushy peas, as well as miso-glazed cauliflower with romesco and pomegranate basil pesto. Sides such as baby gem salad with chive and avocado, and grilled tenderstem broccoli complement the plates. As you might have noticed, wherever possible, the team at Silures Holm House prefer to source ingredients and produce locally.
The Silures at Holm House menu also offers a set dining option, available as two or three courses. Think pork and white pudding scotch eggs with house piccalilli, roasted heritage courgette, and fish cakes with sea herbs and vegetables. As for desserts, depending on the seasons, you might find Amalfi lemon tarts with clotted cream and strawberry compote, ice creams and sorbets, and truffled Cenarth brie served with oat crackers and date chutney.
Silures is firmly rooted in Welsh hospitality, embracing seasonal ingredients and local flavours, with a signature Sunday roast featuring dry-aged sirloin, crispy pork belly or roast chicken accompanied by traditional trimmings.
