As if there weren’t enough reasons to visit Sat Bains’s iconic Nottingham restaurant-with-rooms, the team has added another dining experience – this chef’s table extraordinaire. Seating only six people, this is a real chance to have masters cooking just for you. Diners choose from seasonal tasting menus: seven courses at lunchtime and ten courses at dinner, from a separate kitchen. Positioned within the grounds of the main restaurant, expect Bains’s iconic dishes: roast monkfish with roscoff onions and chicken jus or scallops, or braised pigs trotter and ponzu. Not only a total gastronomic experience, it’s enormously environmentally friendly too, with much of the green produce and herbs coming from the garden outside. The garden is then fed by the kitchen composter, resulting in a top level self-regenerating kitchen – being green never tasted so good.
