London has seen many bizarre pop-ups open over the years (remember when Bosch asked guests to eat their meal off the floor?) and the latest concept to come to the capital is of the cheesy kind.
A ‘viral’ burrata bar will be opening its doors in East London next month, serving a five-course menu for the incredible-value price of just £5.
The concept is being launched by Italian cheese brand Galbani, who will be putting a cheesy twist on the UK’s favourite viral recipes. The menu will comprise solely of trending dishes to reflect recent research that nearly 62% of Brits now look to TikTok first when it comes to recipe inspiration.
The pop-up will open its doors in Shoreditch on Friday 4 July and Saturday 5 July, with tickets costing just £5 and all proceeds going to the Anthony Nolan Charity.
Guests will receive a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a cheesy feast of five courses – all centred around everyone’s favourite social-worthy cheese: burrata. The menu kicks off with baked nduja burrata, topped with the spicy sausage and finished with crispy garlic pangrattato. Next, it’s a tricolore sandwich, layered with burrata, caponata and basil pesto, followed by a strawberry and cream salad with a Pimm’s reduction.
The penultimate dish sees deep fried burrata topped with soy and balsamic glazed fruits and hot honey - crispy on the outside and gooey within. Finally, the cheese finale is a burrata s’mores blondie which offers a savoury twist on the classic sweet treat. The pudding is loaded with biscuits and marshmallow and finished with whipped burrata and pistachio.
Speaking about the pop-up, Heloise Le-Norcy Trott, Marketing Director at Lactalis UK&I said: ‘We’re not just dishing up food, we’re creating an experience made for sharing.
‘Our menu is all about the dishes people are already loving online, swapping with friends, and craving at home – now with a gourmet twist. Burrata is the star of the show, but it’s that classic Italian vibe of sharing great food with great company that makes the Burrata Bar special.'
Tickets are available on Eventbrite now, and include a one-hour session with a drink and set menu.
