Gino D’Acampo has dramatically announced that he will not be returning for another season of Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip - the hugely successful ITV show that sees the trio travelling around various countries and cities to try the local culture and cuisine.

In a video on his Instagram, Gino explained that the show has become difficult to organise due to conflicts in their diaries, but also that disagreements over contracts had become ‘very complicated and very stressful’. He goes on to say that his relationship with co-stars Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieux are still good, and his decision to leave the show was made in order to protect their friendships.

‘Last week I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road trips,’ he says. ‘The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong.

‘It’s just because we can’t get the dates together, and sometimes when we do get the dates together, sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me because I have other stuff that I have to do.

‘Personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family it is very complicated, and also because contracts start to become very complicated and very stressful. I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract, so I have decided not to do it anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead.’

Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip was first broadcast in 2018 and has since enjoyed a very successful run, with three seasons and three Christmas specials drawing in a legion of fans. Whether the hit show will continue remains unclear, but a fourth season has already been filmed and will be broadcast later this year, according to ITV.
