In the heart of Ladbroke Grove, just a stone’s throw away from the vibrant Portobello and Golborne Road, renowned for its bustling market, you will find NBHD Portobello. Billing itself as a destination bar, NBHD Portobello serves a selection of house made cocktails alongside a range of South American inspired sharing plates.
It is a colourful and inviting space, which reflects the lively character of the community around it. There is a small front garden and terrace for guests to enjoy during the warmer months, while inside, you will find a striking raised bar decked out in an electric yellow hue and zinc topped communal tables which are great for small groups.
Come sunset, cocktails take centre stage at NBHD Portobello, with guests able to choose from a whole host of fun and innovative serves - think the likes of a Watermelon Daiquiri, a Balsazar Rose Spritz or a Strawberry & Jalapeno Margarita, all expertly mixed by the team.
As for the food menu, guests can expect to snack on sharing plates inspired by the cuisine of South America. On the menu, you might find the likes of tostadas stuffed with tuna and guacamole or beef tartare and cured egg yolk. Elsewhere, there are mushroom and garlic confit croquetas, as well as gluten-free sticky sesame and coriander Korean-style chicken wings.
Speaking about the venue, co-founder Oliver Stanley says: “For us, like many, we came to know (and actually like!) our neighbours over the past 14 months due to lockdown, so we see NBHD Portobello as the place where you can reconnect with your local area and community. We want people to be able to reminisce or make new memories here, over one too many drinks and a plate of tacos, there’s that sense of familiarity, almost like a home away from home.”
