Style over substance. It all looks good, but the rather overbearing but inefficient service combined with astronomical pricing lets the whole thing down. We went for Saturday lunch. It was half full in the rather cramped inside, and busy outside.
Starters like fried calamari, bresaola and vitello tonata, well executed, but all at over £20 is simply too much for what you get. A small main of tonarelli seafood (prawns, mussels, clams) came well cooked (al dente) but again at £30 you'd expect a little more actual seafood. Pizzas average £20 and again are good, but steeply priced.
The clientele seemed to be mainly out of towners who were looking for something glitzy on the Kings Road. World's End is the least glitzy part of the Kings Road, so not quite sure how all of this comes together.
I think Mucci makes good food but at the wrong price and with amateurish service - our side order of broccoli arrived 30 minutes before the mains, and two of our party had finished their mains before the remaining two were actually served.
I will not be darkening their door again - try Frantoio over the road or La Famiglia in Langton St for something far more traditional and decent overall.
