SquareMeal Review of Marigold Riverside Café

Situated on the banks of the river Nidd, right by Knaresborough’s iconic railway bridge (Yorkshire’s most photographed spot, apparently), the Marigold Café is a godsend for camera-toting tourists, locals and those who like messing about on the water – you can hire one of their blue rowing boats for a family trip or romantic tryst. If sustenance is required, head to the bright, modern open-plan dining room or sit outside, admire the gorgeous views and watch the world go by. Check your table number and order at the window from a please-all menu that runs from breakfast-fry-ups and hot sandwiches to warm bacon and black pudding salad (a local favourite), Malaysian-style sardines on toast, veggie chilli and hot meaty specials. There’s also a host of sweet things ranging from toasted teacakes and flapjacks to Yorkshire ice creams.
