Quite a few months since I last visited so with nothing better to do on a cold and wet January evening, we thought we would try the quiz night.

Great welcome from the friendly staff, especially James who took care of our table, a couple of us had different dietary requirements, he knew the menus extremely well and answered every question we had without hesitation.

I had an extremely good fish pie, (that pie alone will have me visiting again very soon) all 3 of my guests said their meals were delicious.

We stayed for the weekly Wednesday quiz, the host of the quiz was perfect, professional but still fun, I am not really a quiz person, but he made it so relaxed I would go back.

There are a lot of good pubs in the area, but to have such a great pub, right on the river with delicious food extremely good staff, and a fun weekly quiz definitely makes the Magpie the best in the area.

The food was disgusting, and wasn't cooked. I was waiting 40 min for food, it wasn't busy only 1 table. The bartender was rude.

there was a limited menu with several items, off an already small choice, unavailable. The main roast (those that were available) was delicious but the dessert disappointing. Our waitress worked hard and was lovely.
