Back in the day, the balcony of the old Lord’s Tavern was a prime spot for watching the cricket, applauding our boys in their white flannels & listening to the ever-so-English sound of willow
on leather. The hostelry moved to its present site by Grace Gate in the 60s & recently got a makeover, making it a spanking new foodie destination in its own right. Against a discreet backdrop
of subtle wood panelling & soft music, visitors can enjoy robust seasonal flavours & dishes that are as loyally British as an MCC tie – think ploughman’s, Lancashire hotpot, Gloucester Old
Spot bangers & mash or beer-battered haddock. Open your innings with smoked salmon fishcakes or prawn cocktail, & close with apple & plum crumble or sticky toffee pud. Marston’s ales
& guest beers are on hand to quench thirsts, with fizz for century-toasting celebrations.

I booked a table through Square Meal for 5pm at the Lord's Tavern but when we arrived we were told that food isnt served until 6pm as the chef starts work then and Square Meal shouldnt of taken the booking.
We had an evening invitation for a wedding at Lords Cricket Ground at 6pm. We were very disappointed as it meant we didnt get to the reception until 7pm.
We ordered a starters and a main. They forgot the starters and just brought us the main out.
Not a very good experience and really disappointed.
