Lomri is a contemporary Indian restaurant located within the Manor House at Foxhills Club & Resort in Ottershaw. Open during the day for coffee, lunch and afternoon tea before transitioning into a more refined dinner service in the evening, the restaurant offers a setting suited to relaxed daytime dining as well as dates, special occasions, celebrations and group meals.
Named after the Hindi word for fox, Lomri pays subtle tribute to the Foxhills estate while drawing inspiration from the historic trade routes that once connected India’s spice ports with Britain. The kitchen is led by Head Chef Achal Aggarwal, whose cooking blends authentic Indian ingredients and flavours with a modern approach.
The menu highlights layered spices, slow cooking and dishes prepared in the tandoor, with plates designed to showcase depth of flavour alongside careful presentation. Starters include dishes such as crisp squid bhaji served with lime chutney, smoky lamb kebabs with crushed mint or golden fried chicken seasoned with curry leaf and green chilli. From the tandoor, dishes arrive lightly charred and full of flavour, with options such as king prawns scented with curry leaf, paneer tikka with tamarind and tomato and lamb chops marinated in Mathania chilli.
Slow-cooked dishes bring richness and warmth, including salmon prepared with coconut and fresh turmeric or pork simmered with black cardamom and cinnamon. Fragrant biryanis are sealed and opened at the table to release the delicious smell of aromatic spices, while thalis offer curated selections of dishes served together so guests can experience a wider range of flavours.
Desserts include traditional kulfi in flavours such as mango or pistachio. Plates are often colourful and carefully composed, sometimes finished with decorative touches that reflect Lomri’s contemporary interpretation of Indian dining.
