Set on Regent Street in the centre of Leamington Spa, Leru Kitchen & Cocktails positions itself somewhere between cocktail bar, social dining restaurant and late-night lounge. The concept is built around Mediterranean small plates and premium drinks with an nightlife-adjacent atmosphere suited to long evenings over cocktails. It’s polished, with a high-energy vibe, so it would make a fine choice for post-work drinking, celebrations, and date nights alike.
The dining room at Leru Kitchen & Cocktails is sleek and contemporary, built around low lighting, exposed brickwork and dark-toned furnishings, with blue neon accents and a long central bar that offers a more modern metropolitan feel. It changes throughout the day, functioning as a relaxed lunch and coffee spot during quieter hours before shifting towards a louder, more energetic evening crowd later on, thanks to mood lighting and a buzzing soundtrack.
The Leru menu kicks off with nibbles like nocellara olives, pita with homemade dips, padron peppers, and vegetable spring rolls. With dishes like grilled lamb skewers with chimichurri, honey butter fried chicken, and pulled pork tacos with guacamole salsa and yoghurt, it’s best to order a variety for the table to share.
That said, if sharing isn’t your vibe, the menu also includes more substantial plates, including the likes of sea bass with Hollandaise sauce, new potatoes and asparagus; lamb chump with cous cous, brown butter cauliflower puree, and mint jus; and braised short rib with garlic mash, roasted seasonal vegetables and braised red cabbage. Alternatively, you can go for one of the Leru cuts, offering up cuts of beef served with fries and sauce. Think sirloin, ribeye and rump steaks. Plus, Leru also serves up a great value bottomless brunch, including two full hours of bottomless cocktails from Passionfruit Martinis to Mojitos.
