Bringing a taste of true Spanish cuisine to the people of Harrogate, La Feria has captured everything that's lovely and buzzy about Spain's authentic cuisine scene, and brought it to you in an accessible, laid back home away from home. With so much passion for what's authentic, the restaurant has even sourced many of their tiles, shutters and doors from salvage yards in Cadiz and Sevilla, to give you a real feel of being in Spain.
First on the menu are para picar dishes that you should share with an aperitif, with choices of manzanilla olives marinated in lemon, thyme and garlic, delicious toasted Valencia almonds, and bites of manchego cheese. With no fuss or frills, La Feria dedicates the jamon section on the menu to Arturo Sanchez Jamon Iberica de Bellota, which they describe as the best ham in the world. If, like many, you come to a Spanish restaurant to enjoy tasty tapas, you're in luck. Try the small fillets of pork loin in garlic and lemon, flash fried prawns in a spicy sauce, or the classic patatas bravas recipe from the chef's grandmother. The dish of morcilla with piquillo peppers and quails egg features an award-winning black pudding from Burgos in Northern Spain, and has to be one of the menu's showstoppers.
There are just two options for main course – a succulent rotisserie chicken and 28 day aged sirloin steak, which shows just how popular the tapas is at La Feria. There are plenty of delicious salads to choose from, too, including tomato with pomegranate and red onion, and fennel with orange, manchego and almond. Annie's orange and lemon cake has to be the most popular dessert, with a recipe from La Feria's good friend Annie back in Vejer de la Frontera.
