A Japanese take on Korean barbecue cuisine, it’s all about DIY here: take your pick from a medley of meat and vegetables (including scallops, short rib and wagyu beef) from the helpfully illustrated menu before setting up shop at your personal grill, rolling up your sleeves up and getting stuck in. If you’re not quite the chef extraordinaire, staff are on hand to advise you on cooking methods and – thanks to clever Japanese engineering – the smoke is conducted down below the tables and funnelled out, so you’re at no risk of gassing fellow diners. If it all seems a bit too much like hard work, choose from a range of soups, salads and noodle dishes, safely prepared for you by somebody else. The (also illustrated) wine list has useful dish pairing hints, and there’s an impressive array of sakes to try too.
