About

The Highland Cinema in Fort William is no ordinary cinema - a proud champion of indie flicks, event cinema such as opera and ballet, and snagging huge blockbusters the same day they're released in Leicester Square, this unique experience is also inspired by highland life with an impressive restaurant to match.

Inside, the cinema itself is state-of-the-art (think laser digital projection and a top quality sound system) but the wider concept reflects a traditional Scottish bothy. The roof is hued red and made from corrugated metal, the stone walls are sourced from Glen Nevis and the slate from Ballachulish, just like a real Highland bothy. The idea is that, like bothys have welcomed travellers for hundreds of years, Highland Cinema - and its restaurant - are still doing the same now.

Whether you're getting your entertainment fix or simply looking for somewhere casual but authentic for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the restaurant serves up a hearty menu alongside an atmospheric setting. The space has room for up to 66 diners and boasts a burning stove and a covered terrace with sweet views of the local town square. Dogs are welcome - but only those who have had their muddy paws cleaned and dried!

As you'd hope, the bar also nods to Scottish tradition. Alongside Scottish whisky, gin, and beer, the team have curated a tempting list of cocktails. Here, you'll find Martinis, classic cocktails, and Highland Cinema specials like the Rusty Nail, combining Double Ben Nevis Blue label whisky and Drambuie, alongside the Highland Bramble, complete with Botanist gin, blackcurrant creme de cassis, and lemon.

As for the Highland Cinema menu, there's something for everyone from pizzas and salads to burgers and smaller plates to share, too. Stand out mentions include the Balmoral Chicken pizza with chicken breast, bacon and haggis, and homemade peppercorn sauce, as well as the smash burger served with skinny fries and the creamy goats cheese and pear salad.
