Don't bother eating there.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A NEW CHEF CAN HAVE ON EXCELLENT INGREDIENTS!!

I have visited the Hammersmith Ram a while back as a party of 4, around March 2025. The food was amazing. We all thoroughly enjoyed every morsal of our food. Ambience was amazing and thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

I have been pestering my partner to visit the Hammersmith Ram with me, as the food was amazing. We finally had a chance to visit the Ram for lunch today. What a disappointment. I would even go so far as to say it was really upsetting. I had hyped the Ram up so much, only to be served the food that we received. very bad.

I ordered the sausages (which I presumed would be served with mashed potatoes) and my partner ordered the steak and chips. The steak was ok, but not seasoned. The chips were not very good either, just cheap frozen chips. The gravy that was served with my sausages, looked like watered down tea, horrible colour and so thin. The sausages were good quality, but not cooked properly. The sausages just about made it to the grill, pasty colour of the sausages. I was offered some more of the same gravy, which I declined. Instead of mash, the sausages were served on a bed of dry, crushed, over cooked, new potatoes with the skin on. I was gob smacked. WE PAID £55.20 FOR BREAD STARTER, TWO MAINS, COKE AND A GLASS OF WINE.

I couldn't eat my meal, so I asked for a doggie back to take the food home for my dog. Before putting the food in the doggie bag, I cut everything up to help soak up the watery gravy.

When I raised my concerns to the server, We were informed that they had a new chef, and that everyone was praising the new menu. There was no effort to offer a free drink, or offer a discount for the next visit. nothing.

On our way out, the server who had seen that I had chopped the food up for my dog, smiled and said to me enjoy the food. By this stage I was fuming and snapped back that the 'food' was for the DOG!! I will not be returning to the Hammersmith Ram.

Having read through the reviews here on Google, I don't believe for one second that these reviews are real. 8 5 start reviews in 2 days? I would hope that google check these reviews. seems not.

Delightful Oasis

It was a hot and tiring day shopping in King Street Hammersmith. I fancied something a bit different from the usual offerings in the area. The solution was found at The Hammersmith Ram where I enjoyed the best ever crab salad. There was a good portion of both white and brown meat served with shredded lettuce and chicory together with brown bread and butter. My companion had the fish and chips, which is always fresh and delicious. We had cooling beers served by two charming young ladies. It was an enjoyable oasis of calm and pleasure

The Manager became hysterical when I asked her to address me in a more polite manner

On Sunday, 13.09.2020 ca. 9 PM, a staff member that appeared to be the Pub Manager separated our tables abruptly when the 11th person joined our group.
At that time the pub operated the policy of up to 10 people per gathering. We complied but also wanted to agree where the line of separation would be, as some people wanted to continue their chats.

The Manager talked me over and subsequently became hysterical when I asked her to address me in a more polite manner.

When I suggested we finish the rather pointless at that stage conversation, she then turned to one of my guests and continued her tirade. Following that, she refused to serve another pint to that guest (a friendly man in his late 60's) as a form of punishment perhaps...

She immediately ran away never to appear again when I took this photo in my silent and peaceful state of helplessness.

Needless to say, this situation has impacted the atmosphere... I suggest more self-control and kindness and perhaps some level of adherence to the venue's dress-code, especially on Sunday.
