Halwyn is a charming new lifestyle destination set on the Eustice family farm near Crantock, close to Newquay on Cornwall’s north coast. It comprises a spacious Feasting Barn, a 15-bay Trackman driving range, and a scenic 12-hole mini-golf course - making it a unique spot where casual dining meets countryside leisure.
The Feasting Barn, open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch (midday to 3pm) and dinner (5pm to 9pm), is a beautifully light and airy space featuring exposed oak beams, a cosy log burner, and large glass panels framing valley views. Inside, the kitchen champions local provenance, notably Trevowah herd beef reared on site by ‘Cousin Tim’, and uses a Josper charcoal grill to pack each dish with smoky, authentic flavour.
Chef Matthew Haggath’s menu is inspired by contemporary British cuisine, highlighting fresh, seasonal Cornish produce. Expect to share small plates such as za’atar hummus, crispy cod croquettes, and Greek koulouri with white-miso butter, then move on to hearty mains - slow-cooked pork belly, pan-roasted local scallops, or a Trevowah herd beef burger served with chips. There's also a children’s menu, plus gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options, and a full bar offering beer, cocktails, and a curated selection of wines.
Complementing the food is the outdoor space: a sunset terrace and garden where guests can enjoy picnic-style dining between golf shots or simply bask in the Cornish sea breeze. The driving range and mini-golf are open daily from 8 am to 9 pm, while the barns serve food later in the week, making Halwyn a brilliant spot for a family afternoon, weekend catch-up, or laid-back evening by the fire.
With casual vibes, countryside charm and menus rooted in local soil, Halwyn offers a relaxed yet refined experience, whether you’re teeing off, grazing small plates or savouring sundowners with a sunset view.
