About

Taking inspiration from the glamour of 1930s Milan, Edmondo is Big Mamma’s ambitious City outpost, housed within the Grade II-listed No.6 Lombard Street in the heart of Bank. The 200-cover restaurant is designed as an ode to the elegance of Milan’s golden age, drawing influence from the celebrated Villa Necchi Campiglio and pairing Art Deco flourishes with the theatrical style that has become synonymous with the Big Mamma group.

Inside, guests can choose between several distinct dining experiences. A striking central bar acts as the focal point of the room, serving cocktails and aperitifs from a drinks list curated by bar manager Ilaria, while a large open kitchen counter offers front-row views of the chefs at work. Edmondo is also notable as Big Mamma’s first London restaurant to feature fully private dining spaces, with three uniquely designed rooms accommodating groups of between 10 and 24 guests. These include La Libreria, decorated with Enzo Ferrari memorabilia; Il Salotto, a characterful room framed by historic timber panelling; and the more intimate Il Ridotto.

The food focuses on classic Italian cooking and premium produce sourced from both Italy and the UK. Head chef Alfonso oversees a menu that leans into regional Italian traditions while retaining Big Mamma’s characteristic sense of abundance. Signature dishes include towering XL focaccia, rich Gnocchi al Gorgonzola from Lombardy and a selection of native-breed steaks supplied by Philip Warren, ranging from tagliata to T-bone cuts finished with the restaurant’s signature spice crust. Elsewhere, ingredients such as Cornish crab and turbot feature throughout the menu, reflecting Edmondo’s emphasis on quality sourcing.

To finish, pastry chef Angelina’s dessert menu delivers suitably indulgent finales, from Italian chocolate cake with a molten centre to an elevated affogato. Combining grand surroundings, dedicated private dining spaces and a menu rooted in Italian tradition, Edmondo brings a distinctly Milanese sense of occasion to the City dining scene.
