Located in Carlyon Bay, Cornwall, Edie’s is a family-run, neighbourhood restaurant specialising in seasonal, local food and quality service.
Edie’s is a multi-award winning restaurant, and yet it remains totally unpretentious. It's a charming, welcoming space, dotted with brightly coloured chairs and anchored by an open kitchen. You’ll often find homey touches, like cookbooks and seasonal decorations, emphasising the friendly, family-run spirit of the restaurant.
Acclaimed chef Nigel Brown runs the kitchen, having returned to his home county of Cornwall after an international career cooking in restaurants across the world. He brings with him a value for seasonal, local and high quality produce, crafted with care and consideration. The a la carte menu features starters, mains and desserts, as well as a concise selection of sharing snacks.
To start, ease in with house smoked salmon pate with toasted treacle bread, before moving onto the likes of twice-baked goat’s cheese souffle, or sardines with confit garlic and pearl barley risotto. Mains include coq au vin with creamy mash, as well as tomato and chickpea curry, and halibut with puy lentils. For dessert, indulge in a chocolate mousse with caramel and white chocolate, or try something sharper, like a passion fruit meringue tart. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are all available, and there’s a prix fixe menu, offering excellent value on two or three course set menus.
Managing the front-of-house is Nigel’s wife Kelly - who has previously worked as a general manager at high-profile restaurants, like Blanc’s - and their daughter Edie. Service is efficient yet relaxed, and children are welcome too, with the addition of a kids menu.
To mark a special occasion, celebrate with family, or simply enjoy a friendly, neighbourhood restaurant, Edie’s combines excellent service with high quality food.
