About

Nestled in the bustling heart of Wimbledon, Diba offers a vibrant taste of authentic Persian cuisine in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. This neighbourhood gem is just a short stroll from both Wimbledon and Wimbledon Park stations, making it a go-to destination whether you’re popping in before a show or enjoying a casual dinner out.

Diba - meaning ‘fine silk thread’ in Persian - prides itself on dishes crafted from cherished family recipes, passed down through generations. The restaurant champions traditional cooking methods, from meticulously washing their herbs to slow-cooking meats, ensuring each bite is infused with love and authenticity. The result? A menu brimming with bold, aromatic flavours and fresh British produce, served with genuine Persian hospitality.

Start your meal with a selection of mezze - think hummus, baba ghanoosh, mast khiyar, or the indulgent mix mazech platter - perfect for sharing. Then dive into charcoal-grilled favourites like Joojeh (saffron-marinated chicken), Koobideh (minced lamb), or sumptuous mixed grills, beautifully charred and served with seasonal salad, your choice of saffron basmati rice, chips, or herbal naan. Seafood lovers will delight in dishes like Ghezel Ala (whole rainbow trout), sea bass or prawns - all served with special house marinades and grilled to perfection. For heartier fare, opt for classic Persian stews: Ghorme Sabzi, Fesenjan, or Gheymeh, each slow-cooked and served with fragrant saffron rice. Vegetarian and vegan diners are well catered for, too, with warming dishes like Adasi lentil soup, Mirza Ghasemi, and a fully vegan vegetarian Ghorme Sabzi. Finish off on a sweet note with Persian desserts like saffron ice cream, faloodeh, or delicate zoolbia o bamiye, alongside refreshing drinks such as traditional doogh or elderflower lemonade.

Offering both table dining and delivery, Diba fits effortlessly into your plans - whether you’re catching up with friends, enjoying a family feast or savouring solo time.

Disgusting place

This place is advertised on its own website as open until midnight everyday. So we booked post-show dinner for 1030pm only to be to be told that they would be closing at 11pm when we turned up on time. We showed the woman her own website stating that it would be open until midnight but she was rude and quickly we understood that this is a homophobic establishment that will not hesitate to be rude and unprofessional towards same sex couples. The woman pushed it by saying that because of coronavirus they needed to shut when she was not even wearing a mask. Revolting at every turn and a place to avoid at all costs. Beware!
