Housed within the historic Christchurch Spire on New Union Street, this venue seamlessly blends medieval architecture with contemporary design, creating an atmospheric and cosy setting for your upcoming meal. The spire, dating back to the 13th century, stands as one of Coventry’s iconic 'three spires', adding a touch of historical charm to the modern bar environment.
Operated by the award-winning Dhillon’s Brewery, known for its innovative ales, the Spire Bar serves a variety of craft beers, including exclusive brews crafted by their head brewer, Pedro. The bar also boasts a cocktail menu featuring bespoke creations made with fresh ingredients and in-house infusions, reflecting over 40 years of combined experience from the bar team.
Complementing the drinks is a menu of Indian-inspired street food, delivered fresh from their sister venue, the Sky Blue Tavern. Guests can start with a selection of light bites such as paneer tikka loaded naan served with salad and mint sauce, or the mixed grill which combines chicken tikka, sheesh kebab and chicken wings with a mint sauce. A selection of sides are also available with everything from vegetable or meat samosas, and spring rolls, to masala or battered chilli chips.
Dhillon’s Spire Bar also offers a selection of box meals, combining some of its favourite street food dishes into a meat or vegetarian-focused box. The Cheeky Chicken Box, for example, offers chatpatta street wings in a spicy sauce to start, followed by an authentic chicken curry served with fluffy basmati rice.
Dhillon’s Spire Bar is also known for its vibrant events, including Bottomless Brunches on weekends, featuring unlimited drinks like Prosecco and Dhillon’s draught beer for 90 minutes. Regular events such as quiz nights and live DJ sessions on Fridays and Saturdays add to the lively atmosphere.
