Chez Antoinette Covent Garden is a French restaurant located on the Market Piazza in central London. It first opened in 2014 and is co owned by Aurélia and Jean Baptiste Noël Delclos. The restaurant reopens in November following an interior redesign and an extension that increases the size of the dining room. The updated layout includes an open kitchen and a pâtisserie counter, both visible from the main dining area. The interior features soft fabrics, brass accents and antique mirrors, drawing from the style of a Lyon café and the feel of a Paris townhouse. These elements give the dining room a traditional French character suited to both daytime and evening visits. A terrace overlooks the Piazza and allows for outdoor seating when weather permits.
The food offer centres on classic French home style cooking. The new bistro focused evening menu includes dishes such as boeuf bourguignon, onion soup, escargots, foie gras and terrine. Recipes are inspired by Aurélia’s grandmother, Antoinette, and reflect the restaurant’s focus on familiar French dishes prepared with traditional methods. Lunch and daytime menus continue to offer salads, tartines, pâtisserie items and other French café dishes. The open kitchen supports both the bistro menu and the pâtisserie counter, allowing guests to see dishes being prepared.
The drinks list includes French wines and a selection of hot and cold beverages suited to the café aspect of the restaurant. Service is offered throughout the day and into the evening, attracting visitors to the Market Piazza as well as nearby residents and theatre goers.
Chez Antoinette operates in a busy part of Covent Garden, close to theatres, shops and transport links. With its expanded dining room, terrace seating and traditional French menu, the restaurant positions itself firmly within the group of neighbourhood style French cafés and bistros serving central London.
