Cakes d'Licious is a small family run business that is a proud member of Indie York. Located just off Clifton Green, the cafe draws in customers with a true vintage experience every day of the week except on a Wednesday and Sunday.
There is something for everyone at Cakes d'Licious, as the kitchen team serves a selection of breakfasts, hot and cold lunches, a vintage afternoon tea, wonderful homemade cakes and great coffee. Afternoon tea inside the tea room is served between 11am and 3pm, and is a great price per person. You will be served a delicious selection of sandwiches of your choice on either white or wholemeal bread, ranging from egg mayo and brie and grape, to prawn in Marie Rose sauce and cream cheese and smoked salmon. Then, you will enjoy a plain and fruit scone with traditional jam and clotted cream, along with a medley of cakes and pot of steaming hot breakfast tea. There is also a children’s afternoon tea, so you can get the vintage experience with the whole family. If you're not quite feeling up to a whole afternoon tea, try the cream tea which just includes the scones and tea, and you can choose fillings of whipped or clotted cream, butter, strawberry, raspberry or blueberry jam.
For breakfast, enjoy classics that never fail to please, like bacon sarnies in white thick cut bread, to a selection of pastries like butter croissants with butter and jam and almond versions. Come lunchtime, try a selection of toasted sandwiches like the mozzarella, tomato and basil. Baked potatoes are also on the menu, with a variety of tasty fillings, along with all day dishes of beans on toast, a homemade soup of the day and cheese scones with butter.
