Perched right on the edge of St Ives harbour, Caffe Pasta is casual restaurant serving affordable and easy-to-like Italian food in a relaxed, contemporary setting. Serving food throughout the day, the restaurant offers a food menu dominated by pizza and pasta and welcomes customers of all ages. With its unrivalled views of the Cornish coastline, Caffe Pasta is both a fantastic spot to come to sit outside with a cup of coffee and watch the tide roll in, and to come with the whole family for a simple yet delicious evening meal. Caffe Pasta tends to get very busy, particularly during the summer, so booking a table in advance is recommended.
The restaurant is based in the bottom of a gorgeous stone building and has a few tables out front which can be used for al fresco dining when the weather allows it. Meanwhile, the inside of Caffe Pasta has been kept incredibly simple; the odd colourful print hangs from the white walls and a marble-topped, wooden bar sits in one corner.
There's plenty to choose from by way of food at Caffe Pasta with both traditional Italian and more typical Cornish dishes on offer. Starters range from fish dishes like smoked mackerel pate with toasted focaccia and anchovy butter, and seared scallop with roasted sweetcorn puree and crispy chorizo to meatier options including slow roasted confit duck served with a warm lentil salad. Pasta dishes on the menu include a crab and prawn pasta bake, and chicken and tarragon tagliatelle, while pizzas come topped with everything from ham and pineapple to crispy Chinese duck and hoisin sauce. If you aren't feeling like pizza or pasta, Caffe Pasta also serves Cornish steaks with fries.
You can wash your food down with a glass of wine from the short list, one of the house cocktails or perhaps a Cornish IPA.
