Perched on Kensington High Street, right next to the verdant expanse of Holland Park, Burger & Lobster's newest London restaurant brings the brand's signature blend of indulgence and good fun to one of the capital's most distinguished neighbourhoods. This is the tenth London outpost for the group, which has been perfecting the art of prime burgers and wild Atlantic lobsters since 2011, and it arrives with a rather exciting twist – it's the first London branch to offer a dedicated brunch menu.
The restaurant itself is a sleek, contemporary space that strikes the right balance between glamorous and relaxed, perfectly suited to the leafy Kensington setting.
The wild Atlantic lobsters are the undisputed star, served whole and steamed with generous lemon and garlic butter, or enjoyed as the iconic lobster roll – tender lobster meat dressed in lemon mayo and nestled in a toasted brioche bun. Lobster lovers will also go mad for the creamy lobster mac and cheese and the crispy lobster croquettes with Grana Padano. On the burger side, the original prime beef burger in its sesame brioche bun with the house secret sauce is a classic done properly, whilst the Smash Burger – two juicy smashed patties with mac sauce and American cheese – has become a firm favourite. For the truly indulgent, the combo platters bring both worlds together beautifully.
The brunch menu is where this Kensington branch really shines. The B&L Benedict, served in the signature brioche roll with your choice of lobster, smoked salmon or spinach, alongside a Full London breakfast and the Breakfast Smash, makes weekend mornings here an absolute treat. Handcrafted cocktails and a well-chosen drinks list round out the offering nicely.
