The Vincent Rooms is a trio of restaurants, located in Capital City College in Westminster. Here, you'll find the Escoffier restaurant, the Cafe and the Brasserie, so you can be sure that there's something suitable for everyone's taste. The restaurants have a double purpose, not just to serve guests delicious food, but as a training ground for the college's school of hospitality and culinary arts. If it's fine dining you're after, visit the Escoffier restaurant, an elegant setting serving rotating themed menus.
We can't be too sure what menu you'll find when you visit the Escoffier, as they change quite often, but you'll find seven courses for a competitive price, and the option to add on four matching wines. Dishes have included ballotine of corn fed chicken leg with lemon and thyme dressing as your starter, followed by a clear chicken broth. The fish course is roast cod with mushy peas and malt vinegar foam (a fun twist on a British classic), and is followed by a venison suet pudding with Jersey royals and seasonal English vegetables. Last but not least, it's a traditional bakewell pudding for dessert, served with plum jam and vanilla cream, and a selection of petit fours sweets.
The Brasserie menu is a bit more laid back, with modern dishes, but still, a frequently changing menu. Here, you can start off with a dish of heritage tomato with baby mozzarella and basil, toasted pine nuts and balsamic vinegar, or the pearl barley and wild garlic risotto with truffle mascarpone. As for the main course, there's a sea bass en papillote with fennel and dill, a roast duck breast with fondant potato, and the Stony River black angus chateaubriand.
