About

Following the success of his first restaurant in Vauxhall, chef Ajay Chaurasia has opened a second site, this time in Wimbledon, bringing his own personal take on Indian cuisine to South-west London. Bombay Delight specialises in lesser-known regional dishes but don't worry, you can still order plenty of tried-and-tested favourites in the form of tikka masalas, kormas and rogan josh curries, each elevated beyond your expectations.

The team always manages to deliver a memorable dining experience through the skills of their talented chefs. If you find yourself hungry and in Wimbledon, make sure to visit Bombay Delight. Each of the dishes here combines traditional flavours with some more modern touches, each boasting only the very best of ingredients. The team happily goes above and beyond for their customers, and make sure that each of their dishes is created to reflect the authentic tastes of Indian cuisine.

The menu begins with a tomato dhainya sorba soup, which is light and refreshing, before including starts of crispy, succulent prawns coated with sesame seeds, and sticky tamarind chicken wings. Other appetisers include the chilli paneer and samosa chat. Getting further into the menu, the tandoori dishes include barrah lamb chops with stone ground spiced and Himalayan salt, along with the tandoori broccoli with kashmiri chillies and grilled in a charcoal oven.

Further into the menu, you’ll find seafood curries of keralan scallops curry with coconut milk, onions and tomato, along with monkfish alleppey with a twist of raw mango. It will come as no surprise that there are plenty of curries on offer, each boasting tender meats and silky sauces for diners to devour.

Why not try the Mumbai ka murga or chef's signature murg hariyali masala? Perhaps you'll discover a new favourite. Menus offer chicken, lamb and vegetarian options, alongside the chef's special biryani dishes. On the side of your main, you’ll find a great selection of breads, rices, salads and sides will accompany perfectly.

Wimbledon delight

It's always a little worry when going for a curry, is it an after pub stodgy experience or is it a true taste of Indian cuisine.

Happilly Bombay Delight is the later, I had chicken tikka to start, amazingly moist chicken with an amazing spiced flavour.  The mrs had lamb chops tikka which we so good there was no sharing!

For main I had lamb angara tender lamb in a rich and spicy sauce, all mopped up with a garlic Nan.  Great taste.  Not sure what the wife had but the small dip of sauce I was allowed due to the deliousness was so full of flavour.

Hard to fault, great staff, great food.
